The Center for Bilingual Education (雙語教育中心) has received support from the Ministry of Education for the second time under the "Bilingual Digital Learning Program (雙語數位學伴計畫)." On May 9, in collaboration with Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (長庚科技大學), they visited Beidou Elementary School (北斗國小) in Changhua County to host a "SDGs Bilingual Fun Challenge and Mother's Day Special Event."

This event was co-planned by both universities, focusing on SDGs and healthy living topics, providing bilingual vocabulary activities for the students at Beidou Elementary. The event was divided into two phases. The first phase included four challenging and engaging English-related games that not only taught the children new knowledge but also deepened their understanding of language learning and teamwork. The second phase was a Mother’s Day activity where the children crafted gifts and thank-you cards to express their love and appreciation for their mothers.

Dean of the General Education (共同教育學院), Dr. Chao Tzu-Chia (趙子嘉), and Director of the Center for Bilingual Education, Dr. Yu Pei-Chun (余沛錞) mentioned that this was their first collaboration with Chang Gung University of Science and Technology to organize an event at an elementary school. This initiative not only fostered educational exchanges and cooperation between the schools but also enhanced the university students' understanding of bilingual education and digital technology.

Beidou Elementary School's principal You Mei-Wen (游美雯) expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Education's Program and looked forward to more collaborations that integrate bilingual and environmental topics with local resources. Beidou Elementary had nearly a hundred students participating, the highest among all elementary schools involved in the Program. This inter-university and elementary school collaboration has bridged the gap between the institutions, providing university students with a diverse service-learning experience, and allowing elementary students to broaden their horizons, enhance friendships, and grow together. (Content & Photo Provided from the Center for Bilingual Education)
