化癌為愛 時尚系孫維瑄老師獲頒周大觀基金會2023全球熱愛生命獎章

      時尚造型與設計系孫維瑄助理教授,獲選為周大觀文教基金會2023年「第26屆全球熱愛生命獎章」得主,今(24)日上午在該校圖書館1樓展覽廳舉行頒獎儀式,並以其「傷痕美學‧藝起聊傷」概念為名,舉辦孫維瑄與大陸抗癌畫家陳景生的繪畫聯展。

      劉國偉校長表示,「生命就是最美的形式」,孫維瑄博士的抗癌歷程,以及利用繪畫傳達對生命價值的體悟,也是學生們最好的生命教育範例。也很高興能與周大觀文教基金會合作辦展,為科技重鎮的新竹,注入關愛生命、人文素養的氣息。

      周大觀文教基金會創辦人周進華先生表示,基金會秉持「永續推動全球熱愛生命運動,宣揚生命無價人間有愛」宗旨,已表揚橫跨七大洲、75個國家、440位熱愛生命獎章得主。今年21位全球熱愛生命獎章得主,從全球各界推薦3124位候選人中脫穎而出。本次除頒發孫維瑄博士獎章,也於圖書館1樓展覽廳展出已逝的大陸抗癌畫家陳景生以周大觀的詩為題的彩墨畫作,以及孫維瑄博士《Epiphany靈光乍現》系列畫作,表達她對生命的感悟。

      孫維瑄博士為孫維瑄博士為法國巴黎第一大學(萬神殿-索爾邦大學)藝術博士、藝術科學及美學高等研究碩士。曾任世界首屈一指的當代博物館「法國龐畢度中心」藝術與文化管理專員。罹病後仍堅持藝術創作、寫作與研究及策展等台法交流活動。抱持著「尊重與掌握美好的生活願景,體會和享受尊貴的生命本質」的理念,創立「I.U.Vie御藝生工作室」(法文意義為「你我的生命」)。近年來以「傷痕美學」為主題,宣揚「以如是境界觀照萬物,以美學智慧超越生命傷痕。」的理念。基金會肯定其「多藝重生.畫出希望活出無限可能」,頒發「全球熱愛生命獎章」,以表彰其熱心公益與藝術成就。

      孫維瑄博士在頒獎儀式中,分享自己的罹癌、抗癌到療癒的心境,在漫長的抗癌路,她在化療、標靶等治療過程的不適中,體會到健康的可貴及自我的微不足道,於是堅持用藝術和美學,走遍歐亞上百個城市,要用藝術和美學,向世界分享生命的陽光。孫維瑄表示,從抗癌之路體認到「拜癌為師、交癌為友,攜癌為藝,化癌為愛」。也因抗癌讓她發現她的使命,要永續推動生命傷痕美學,讓更多人體認健康的重要及鼓勵熱愛生命。

      周大觀文教基金會與圖書館合作的「傷痕美學‧藝起聊傷:御藝生抗癌博士孫維瑄V.S.大陸抗癌百歲畫家陳景生聯展」,5月24日起到6月16日在圖書館1樓展出,現場同時陳列周大觀文教基金會的「全球熱愛生命獎章」系列叢書,以及同步展出幼兒保育系搭配周大觀文教基金會熱愛生命主題的「生命教育徵文比賽」成果,以多元方式展現生命價值與藝文的內涵和力量。

Assistant Professor Sun Wei-xuan of the Department of Fashion Styling and Design, has been selected as the recipient of the 26th “Fervent Global Love of Lives Awardees” by the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation in 2023. The award ceremony took place on the morning of May 24th at the Library, coinciding with the Joint Exhibition of "Aesthetics of trauma‧Artistic conversation about trauma - Sun Wei-Shiuan and Mainland Cancer-fighting Painter Chen Jing-Sheng."
President Liu Kuo-Wei expressed that "life is the most beautiful art form," and Dr. Sun’s journey of battling cancer, using painting as a medium to convey the value of life, serves as an excellent example of life education for students. President Liu also mentioned his hope for more collaborations with the foundation, aiming to infuse Hsinchu, a technology hub, with the vitalizing force of caring for life and humanistic qualities.
Mr. Chou Chin-Huar, the founder of the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation, stated that the foundation's purpose is to "sustainably promote the love of life movement globally and advocate the priceless value of life and love in humanity." Among 3,124 candidates worldwide, this year's 21 recipients of the "Fervent Global Love of Lives Awardees" stood out. In addition to presenting Dr. Sun with the medal, a collaborative exhibition titled " Aesthetics of trauma‧Artistic conversation about trauma" showcased ink paintings inspired by Chou Ta-Kuan's poems and Dr. Sun's series of artwork titled "Epiphany."
Dr. Sun Wei-Shiuan holds a Doctor of Arts and a Master in Aesthetics and Art Sciences of Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne University in France. She previously served as the art and cultural management commissioner at the National Georges Pompidou Centre of Art and Culture. Despite her illness, she remains committed to artistic creation, writing, and curatorial activities related to Taiwanese-French exchanges. She founded the "I.U.Vie Studio" (meaning "your and my life" in French) to promote the concept of " Aesthetics of trauma" and advocate surpassing life's scars through aesthetic wisdom.
During the award ceremony, Dr. Sun shared her experience of being diagnosed with cancer, her journey of fighting against it, and the healing process. Through the prolonged pain of cancer treatment, she realized the value of health and the insignificance of the individual. Even in the midst of her illness, she persistently uses art and aesthetics to share the sunshine of life with the world. Dr. Sun expressed that through her battle with cancer, she has come to understand the phrase "Embrace cancer as a teacher, befriend cancer, carry it as art, and transform it into love." She also discovered her mission to perpetually promote the aesthetics of trauma, spreading awareness about the importance of health and encouraging the love of life.
The Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation, in collaboration with the Library, is hosting the exhibition " Aesthetics of trauma‧Artistic conversation about trauma - Cancer-fighting doctor Sun Wei-Shiuan and Mainland Cancer-fighting Painter Chen Jing-Sheng Joint Exhibition" from May 24th to June 16th on the library's first floor. The exhibition also features the Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation's series of books related to the "Fervent Global Love of Lives Awardees" and showcases the results of the "Life Education Essay Contest" from the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, aligning with the foundation's theme of loving life, presenting the value and power of life and arts in a diverse manner.
